Frequently asked questions

Answers to help you feel informed and ready.

Starting therapy is a big step. We've gathered the most common questions so you can focus on what actually matters.

Getting started

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If something is affecting your quality of life, your relationships, or your ability to feel like yourself, therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Many people come to therapy simply wanting to understand themselves better or work through something that's been on their mind.

What happens during the free consultation?

It's a 15-minute phone or video call where we talk about what brings you in, answer your questions, and figure out if we're the right fit. There's no commitment, no pressure, just an honest conversation.

How do I get matched with a therapist?

During your consultation, we listen to what you're navigating and what matters to you in a therapist. We make a thoughtful match based on your specific needs, not just whoever's available.

Cost and payment

Do you accept insurance?

We are a private-pay practice. This means no insurance limitations, greater privacy, and more flexibility to focus on what you actually need. We provide superbills upon request so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider.

How much does therapy cost?

Session rates vary by therapist and service type. We discuss fees during your free consultation so you have a clear picture before committing to anything.

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many PPO plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network therapy. We can walk you through this during your consultation.

Sessions and format

Do you offer in-person and virtual sessions?

Yes. We offer in-person sessions at our Humble, TX office and secure virtual telehealth sessions through a HIPAA-compliant video platform. Both are equally effective.

How long are sessions?

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Frequency depends on your goals and schedule. We'll discuss a plan that makes sense for your situation.

What should I expect from my first session?

Your first session is about getting to know each other. Your therapist will ask about what brought you in, what you're hoping for, and how you've been navigating things. By the end, you'll have a sense of direction. No homework, no pressure.

Confidentiality and privacy

Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything shared in therapy is protected by strict confidentiality laws. There are narrow legal exceptions (such as immediate safety concerns), which your therapist will explain in your first session. Your insurance company has no access to your sessions when you're paying privately.

Are virtual sessions secure?

Yes. We use a HIPAA-compliant video platform. Your sessions are encrypted and private.

You do not have to keep doing this on your own.

When you're ready, we're here. No pressure. No judgment. Just a conversation to start.
